Wings Award

The recipient of the Wings Award is a Kentucky Chapter of AAMS member in good standing who has by Deeds, Actions, or Words, made a significant contribution to the Air Medical Transport Profession or Industry in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The nominee must be a member in good standing of the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS as of August 15 of the year of the nomination. A member shall be considered in good standing by having an application for membership on file with the secretary and a record of paid membership also on file with the secretary. Current elected executive officers of the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS are not eligible for the Wings Award. These members are the persons who will make the decision of the recipient of the award.

Nominations can be made by any person associated with an air medical service providing air medical transport and or patient care in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Person’s making nominations need not be members if the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS. Nominations must be received by the secretary of the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS or be post marked by midnight August 15 of the year of nomination. The nomination form must be complete and signed by the person nominating the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS member.

The recipient will be chosen from the nominations after a "blinded" review of all of the nominations by the executive officers of the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS. The Secretary of AAMS will not participate in the review and decision process except to receive, "Blind" the nomination and disseminate the nominations to the Executive Officers of the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS. The secretary will also verify the membership status of the nominees prior to dissemination. The final decision will be a unanimous choice made by the President, President-Elect and Treasurer of the Kentucky Chapter of AAMS.
